The Pantone Color Institute has announced the Color of the Year for 2020.
They describe “Classic Blue” as “Instilling calm, confidence, connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.”
This deep, blue hue resembles the sky at dusk, the return of a new day, ensuring peacefulness and serenity.
Erica Islas, interior designer of Lamps Plus, states, “It [Classic Blue] tends to work extremely well in all areas of the home including kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, kid spaces, bedrooms, offices — you can’t go wrong with it. The color is easy to work with in interiors and pairs well with a variety of colors, especially white, gray, taupe, yellow and greens. Designers have been using this color for decades so while we already know it’s a timeless color, it’s refreshing to see the color take the center stage. We’re going to be using it for many years to come.”
